Monday began with seven teams competing against each other to generate maximum profit, starting with just £10. The original teams were as follows: Prospero, Crouching Tigers, Madoff Money, Phenomenology, C.O.R.E, PLIM, and Oshan's 10.On Tuesday C.O.R.E, Prospero and PLIM were deemed by the judges to be unsuccessful, and removed from the competition. However, it wasn't all bad, and much positive feedback has been made, with Alec Feakes from team Oshan's 10 claiming that the experience is "Really interesting and enjoyable, gets your adrenaline going; it's so good having the feeling of making so much money at the end of the day".
Wednesday saw the Marketing Challenge, and the four remaining teams were taken at 8:45 AM to an undisclosed location (which turned out to be Temple Newsam House). Teams were given an informative tour of the remarkable mansion and set off on a challenge to create a marketing strategy to attract interest for its upcoming musical performances, as well as the estate itself.
With a budget of just £10, teams had to create a winning marketing strategy that would:
- Increase revenue streams - Increase awareness of this spectacular estate’s national importance and its vibrant musical history through attracting the public to attend concerts held at the Estate.
Teams are to pitch their strategies to a judging panel from 4:00pm today (Thursday 25h February). Results will be announced thereafter!
