Anyway, the footing is coming on; I've only slipped up with the more complicated steps. I'm completely forgetting a move right at the beginning - a move that I learnt in the first week - and that's quite annoying, but things are developing. My posture is a bit dubious as well but I'll work on all of that in the final fortnight.
Meanwhile, the other dancers are varying in quality from minute to minute, it seems. Whilst Emily Scott's choreography has apparently changed (and to be honest, I'm not as much of a fun of the new dance as I was of the old one - though I think it'll probably play out better in the end), others have simply appeared to be getting the hang of difficult bits or learning new things or filling in the gaps. Peter's dance appeared to have developed in its choreography (and it wasn't the only one), so people are really knuckling down towards getting the little problems out of the way. There aren't really people left behind, either, so I'm certain that the difference between fifth and last place on the night will be determined by the effect of public-performance nerves.
The name I haven't really mentioned so far, but others have, is that of Gruff - and he's really been shining this week and is looking good for the final. A couple of girls near me were virtually swooning over him, so I suspect he'll get a block of public votes as well as a decent judge score. He's been keeping quiet but would be worth a flutter if bets were being taken.
Anyway, virtually everyone was there and looking good. Those that have previously been struggling from time to time appear to have fixed most of those problems and I think that if the final was tomorrow we could all perform a patchy dance but make it look fairly ok (with minor problems) - so hopefully the final will be a good spectacle. The dancing is just about sorted..... so now it's just time for the publicity and the raising of money for RAG!
