Woodstock brings the music festival vibe to campus; running over 12 hours in what is usually blistering sunshine (so fingers crossed for this year's date of Saturday week 9) it includes performances by bands, dancers, gymnasts,dj sets, gap-year kids with poi and at least one joker in the lake (potentially on a bicycle).
With Glasto looking a bit underwhelming this year this might be the best shot we have at a quality festival, but the best part is that you (yes, you) could be on the bill. Application forms are available from the SU reception, or online here and 'York's Got Talent' (rumours that Adam Thorn will be filling Piers Morgan's shoes are as yet unconfirmed) begins with college heats in weeks 6-8, then a final in Vanbrugh with the winner getting a spot on the main stage. Lets hope we've got some Paul Potts-alikes on campus, because I want me some Nessun Dorma.
This year's Woodstock Coordinator - Billy Goldring - is contactable at ragwoodstock@yusu.org regarding any queries.
