Operagasmic presents Don Giovanni - Orgasmic bar - 14/06/09

Operagasmic
Sunday, 14th June 2009
Operagasmic is back. With their last production a resounding success, they once again bring opera to the masses in an attempt to shed the fat-lady-warbling image that haunts the genre.

Operagasmic and it's founder Francesca Geach seem to be starting something of an operatic revolution. Drawing on some of the university's most talented young singers, the opera will be staged in an intense 48 hours and will be performed outside the confines of a stuffy opera house in orgasmic bar, where you can tipple or even dine as you enjoy the show.

A conversation with Operagasmc director and founder Francesca Geach promises that the production will be "exciting", "hair-raising" and "sexy". The opera follows the notorious Don Giovanni appalling escapades before he eventually tumbles into hell.

"Do you think that opera is about fat women screaming their heads off in a language nobody understands? Do you think that an opera ticket costs more than a year round luxury cruise? Do you think opera can never be accessible to everyone?

If the answer is “yes” to at least one of those questions then you should definitely be at Orgasmic Café Bar at 8pm on Sunday the 14th June to watch Operagasmic’s production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni. All we are asking is for people to open their minds and for one night banish all stereotypes! "

Entry is free, and the door is open throughout the production so you have nothing to lose - come and go as you wish! The performance will be in English with a compere explaining what is happening in each scene so there’s no reason to be concearned about not understanding the plot.

There will be two performances of Don Giovanni: the first at Orgasmic bar on 14th June at 8pm and a second in the Drama Barn at 7.30pm on Monday 15th. For more information contact Francesca Geach at operagasmic@gmail.com or 07971 488381
