As the Oscars prepare to celebrate the best in film, the Golden Raspberry Awards prepare for the less ceremonious task of mocking those who have caused cinema goers so much pain, agony and admission price. This year they also feature special awards for the worst movies of the entire decade.
Worst Picture - All About Steve and Old Dogs have to be the favourites. While Transformers 2, G.I. Joe and Land of the Lost at least have the distraction of vast amounts of CGI, these have nothing except their attempts at humour. All About Steve might just take it due to Sandra Bullock’s horrific performance. Prediction: All About Steve
Worst Actor – Features the unusual nomination of all three of the Jonas Brothers for their portrayal of themselves in their own concert movie, whereas the rest are all for comedic roles no one found amusing. I doubt Eddie Murphy will win since Imagine That is not as bad as most of his recent work, whereas Pink Panther 2 and Old Dogs are. Prediction: The Jonas Brothers
Worst Actress – Musicians are popular here with Beyoncé (for Obsessed) and Miley Cyrus; the latter’s incredibly annoying persona will undoubtedly attract votes. Meanwhile Megan Fox’s performance in Transformers 2 is a perfect depiction of a character with absolutely no personality. Sandra Bullock’s performance in All About Steve has become truly infamous, and she could well be the one of only two people to win an Oscar and a Razzie in the same year. Prediction: Sandra Bullock
Worst Director – Land of the Lost director Brad Silbering, along with the infamously bad Stephen Summers and Michael Bay, all utterly failed to keep audiences entertained despite vast amounts of CGI. This is particularly true of Bay whose Transformers 2 was met with universal contempt even by fans. Prediction: Michael Bay
Worst Film of the Decade – I Know Who Killed Me, Gigli and Swept Away are all truly horrific but to win this award they are perhaps too reliant on a few atrocious performances but not the whole product. Battlefield Earth certainly offers this boasting perhaps the most illogical screenplay since Plan 9 and career-worst performances from John Travolta and Forest Whitaker. Yet even this may yet be defeated by Freddy Got Fingered, a film that believes swinging dead babies around the protagonists is pure comedic gold. Prediction: Freddy Got Fingered
Worst Actor of the Decade - Ben Affleck is perhaps the most obvious choice having failed to act convincingly in any major role. However, it should be noted that although his performances are bad, they have never quite plummeted to the depths of the competition. Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, John Travolta and Rob Schneider have all starred as leads in films whose nightmarish travesty is scarcely describable. However it is fair to say that all but Schneider have at least partially redeemed themselves in some form. Prediction: Rob Schneider (I couldn't resist including the following South Park clip which accurately portrays Schneider's career - ed)
Worst Actress of the Decade – Any of the nominees would be deserving participants with the exception of Mariah Carey whose performance in Precious would make it decidedly unfair. Jennifer Lopez and Madonna have only made dire films and been appalling in all of them, whilst Lindsay Lohan’s performance in I Know Who Killed Me is quite possibly the worst I’ve ever seen. Paris Hilton may take the day due to her abomination The Hottie and the Nottie although the limited release may just save her. Prediction: Lindsay Lohan
Worst Supporting Actor – Robert Pattinson, Twilight: New Moon Worst Supporting Actress – Sienna Miller, G.I. Joe Worst Screen Couple – Sandra Bullock and Bradley Cooper, All About Steve Worst Sequel, Prequel, Rip-Off or Remake - Transformers 2 Worst Screenplay – Stuart Beattie, David Elliot and Paul Lovett, G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra

Bless Ben Affleck, he can't seem to catch a break. He was good in Hollywoodland, or so I've heard, and he did well in 'State of Play', even though that wasn't a leading role. And his directorial debut 'Gone Baby Gone' was really good.
Wow, have I just written 4 lines defending Ben Affleck?
