This week at the YSC we see two very welcome returns in the form of Tarantino’s extraordinary second feature Pulp Fiction as well as Gordon Gekko in Wall Street 2. This comes with an introduction into the magical world of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
One of the most popular films of all time, and one that has become pop culture legend, Quentin Tarantino’s highly exuberant and hugely entertaining masterpiece Pulp Fiction returns to the cinema. Featuring John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman at their very best, here is a film that is as brilliant and thrilling as it is violent and fascinating.
The sequel to the 1980s classic sees Michael Douglas return to his Academy award-winning portrayal of infamous corrupt businessman Gordon Gekko. Set before the recent financial crisis, Gekko is struggling to regain the trust of his estranged daughter (Carey Mulligan, An Education) by taking her boyfriend (Shia LaBoeuf) under his wing. Expect tension and excitement as Douglas dominates the screen in an exciting new film from controversial director Oliver Stone (Platoon, Salvador, JFK).
After a recent return to form in Kick Ass and Bad Lieutenant, Nicholas Cage lights up the screen in this blockbuster adventure. Cage plays a sorcerer who must train his young apprentice Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel) in the magical arts in order to defeat the terrible threat posed by old arch-nemesis Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). Featuring breathtaking special effects, expect an exciting action-packed ride.
