This week at YSC we have three rather different films meaning there is something for everyone; From legendary cult midnight movie The Rocky Horror Picture Show, to good old fashioned full-scale alien invasions in Battle: Los Angeles, and the hit band comedy Killing Bono.
As cult films go, you do not get much bigger than The Rocky Horror Picture Show, with a following spanning continents and leading to musicals, festivals and so much more. Therefore, a chance to see amongst other things Tim Curry’s infamous sweet transvestite Dr. Frank-N-Furter at the big screen should not be missed. One of the most bizarre, interesting and most amusing musicals ever made.
Ben Barnes and Robert Sheehan star in this hit comedy following two brothers in a band that can never quite compete with their old school rivals U2. However, never giving up on the dream they continue to try and get into the musical stratosphere, leading to more and more problems, particularly as their old friends continuously remind them how close they came.
This action-packed blockbuster takes a ground-level view of a small group of soldiers who are faced with a vast alien invasion that comes from nowhere. Results in an exciting battle for survival, as Sergeant Michael Nantz (Aaron Eckhart) attempts to both save the world and lead his dying men to safety. An intense Sci-fi adventure.
