Summer Pantomine Preview

Aladdin
Aladdin
Tuesday, 10th June 2008
You thought it was behind you? Oh No it's Not!

The action of this sequel to Aladdin unfolds as Girls Aloud (yes, the band) land in the middle of the Arabian des(s)ert of Agrabah and join Aladdin and his friends in a mysterious and perilous journey...

Written, directed, performed and produced by students, York's first ever Summer Pantomime, Aladdin: Abanazar Strikes Back, promises to be just as funny, extravagant and odd as last winter'S show, The Peter Pan...tomime.

Starring Campus Legend Will Seaward (of Britain's got Talent fame) in his last ever University of York panto, this production includes many of York's finest gifted students. Credits include the writer of The Peter Pan...tomime Marc Vestey; The Balcony director Kate Shenton; The Shambles' Max Tyler, Sami Hussain and Woody, and many many more.

This term's Panto will be performed Thursday and Friday at 5.00pm and Saturday at 3.30pm in Vanbrugh Bowl (where Student action presented A Midsummer Night's Dream last week). The setting will be transformed into the equivalent of an outdoor Central Hall complete with a stage, extravagant 25 foot-high set and fenced off seating area.

So get yourself a ticket to watch this all-inclusive, laugh-a-minute production that is sure to have something for everyone. Bring a picnic, bring some wine but most of all, bring your sense of fun, fantasy and adventure. You're in for a treat.

Tickets are available this week from Vanbrugh stalls and YOUR:SHOP and will be sold on the door. Prices are £3.50 with NUS, £4.50 for non-students.
