Started by York Uni graduate Oliver Jones, the Rubber Duck theatre company have been putting on children's shows from their base in York since 1994. This is their most ambitious production yet, involving puppetry, shadow screens, poetry and a brand new score, and follows sell-out shows of Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr Fox and The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me at the Edinburgh Fringe.

The fairy tale, or pohádky as they are known in Czech, is a central part of a Czechoslovakian Christmas, and is full of the magical creatures and surprising events you would expect from the genre. With this production Rubber Duck are giving you the opportunity to look into the folklore of another time and place, and the chance to take a winter's journey right on your doorstep...
