Cant kick or throw? Don’t fancy getting hit by a main sail, or going down a flat river backwards (you can't even see what you're about to hit!)? Dont even know what a kayak is? You should consider the Canoe Club. We have an insane spirit of throwing ourselves headlong at anything in a bit of plastic, be it a rapid, a snow-covered hillside, or a bar (literally, as you will eventually find out). In York we are surrounded by rivers to paddle (as long as there is rain) and sea to surf. We sometimes head off to Wales and Scotland and are even known to venture to the Alps when the rivers dry up in England. The Club also has a great social life with "outings" every week and sometimes weekends, even BBQs on the beach, because, though we are adrenaline hungry paddlers, we are still all definitely students!
