The department prides itself on its recent 6* assessment, particularly impressive since all eligible members of staff were involved. Last year the department hosted a talk with JM Coetzee - particularly impressive since the writer did not even talk to the BBC on his visit. There are around 130 students in the department who come from all over the world to study at the faculty.
