If the university has a liver, then it would be Goodricke. This is the bohemian college of York, where in many cases you can walk from corridor to corridor socialising with anyone.
"Cell Block C" has become legendary as a place of dire accommodation and yet euphoric reverie. The block survived numerous journalist stings, including some years ago rumours that asbestos was present. For the record, it's not there any more.
Goodricke is also the bad child of the university, often holding outrageously controversial parties and holding the union to account on its promises to the college to keep things exciting.
Strong on sport, and close up to the hub of the university itself, it is the college of experience. There are 350 undergraduates who live in the college, with over 1000 members it truly is a college to be loved, loathed and lived!
