Octopush or Underwater Hockey is a fun and demanding sport invented in the late 1950s and brought to York in 2006. The club has around thirty members. Two teams use snorkelling gear and pushers (small sticks) to move a lead puck (the squid) along the pool floor to the opponent's goal.
We have whole club training on a Saturday evening, frequently play matches including the Uni Nationals, North East League and friendlies. York Octopush welcomes new members - no snorkelling or octopush experience nescessary, and your first session is free.
The club welcomes members from the undergraduate, graduate, and local communities, though all have to have AU membership.
