We are a friendly club, always looking for new members, or people who just want to come along and give something new a go.
What do we do? - Here's just a flavour:
- The Sailing Teams compete regularly at team racing events in Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield and basically every other big northern city. Teams also compete in the BUSA National Team Racing Championships, with regional qualifiers taking place early in the spring term. These weekends necessarily involve nights of carnage in said foreign city followed by sailing of great speed, skill and tactical nous.
- We run sailing and windsurfing beginners days where anyone of any ability can just come along and have a go. We have qualified sailing and windsurfing instructors who spend their summers jetting off to Greece, Turkey and Dahab, Egypt... so you know you're in safe hands.
- We go to massive windsurfing events in Cornwall, Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff, Southampton and more. These involve loads of windsurfing clubs from up and down the country, parties on the Saturday night of up to 700 people; and you get accommodation, equipment hire and tuition all thrown in too. Occaisionally we even compete - last year one of our members won the Student Windsurfing Association Women's Championship, and AU Sportswoman of the Year to boot. Get in.
- We go on loads of socials, sometimes fancy dress, often alcohol-based always top notch lash. Check out our calendar to see when the next one's happening.
