In a game that wasn’t the usual utter blow-out York still won comfortably, shutting out Northumbria for the last two quarters and showing considerable skill at rebounding on offense. York played with the same skill they’ve shown throughout the year, with several key players stepping up to make up for the fact captain Claire Dinan was unable to play, ensuring another impressive victory.
From the start York once again dominated a league rival, taking control of the game from the start and staying in front with ease throughout. Claire Dinan, Marta MaršÄ¨ionkaitÄ— and Kate Smith all had outstanding personal games and their combined point totals completely eclipsed Newcastle, never mind the rest of the team’s achievements.
In a game that had a similar score line to last week’s game, York’s first team improved substantially in their teamwork, undaunted by the challenge posed to them.
