YUSU officers gathered in Langwith on Thursday evening to hear a number of motions put forward for consideration; again, the issue of portering cuts featured heavily.
Here it is again, York Come Dancing, where campus celebrities take to the dance floor to raise money for RAG (and provide endless amusement to us fellow students in the process).
A York student attempts to storm the charts for Children in Need. According to YUSU sources, James Hill, of University Radio York, along with three other YouTube “legends”, has spent the last 10 weeks creating a single for Children in Need. “I’ve Got Nothing” is a song almost entirely composed from the efforts of the online community, mobilised for the ambitious purpose of taking the Number 1 slot for Children in Need this week.
Students may be looking at a different Woodstock this summer, due to changes in YUSU organisation. An alteration in the status of YUSU as a charity, means that the organisation of fundraising events must be different than last year, most notably in the case of Woodstock, the university of York’s 12-hour concert event, held in the summer term.
