Goals from Gouland (2), O'Shea and substitute Oomen sealed an emphatic passage through to the quarter finals of the BUSA Plate. An early goal settled the nerves of York, but they had to wait until the second half to seal the victory.
The badminton mens 1sts were unlucky to draw a Leeds Met Carnegie side boasting highly ranked England national players. The two best teams in the tournament met in the quarter finals and with Leeds Met running out 7-1 winners, they must be favourites for the competition. The solitary York point came from the doubles combination of Hiley and Kunabar.
After travelling to Manchester, the badminton mens 2nds lost a closely fought contest 5-3. All 8 games went the full distance which does testament to how similar the two teams were in ability.
The womens hockey 1sts hosted a strong UCLan side and eventually lost 4-2. The scores were level at 1-1 and 2-2 before York eventually lost out.
