Tiger, Tiger burning bright

Wednesday, 25th February 2009
Seano is back on form after Roque Santa Cruz broke Man United's clean sheet run and brought the Yorker punters 5 and a half points profit. This week we take on the return of Tiger, test match cricket, the Premier League as well as the weekly horse to carry on the winning ways.

Nap: Tiger Woods to win the Accenture Matchplay at 5/1

Tiger's decision was not made lightly to come back this week after eight months out after knee surgery, but he would only return on one condition: that he could win. Tiger is a previous multiple winner in this event and holds the record for the most number of matches won.

Shouldn't we be worried about his injury? In short... No. Woods' greatest strength is his mental ability and that will not have got rusty. The matchplay format does not necessitate consistent play, so Woods can afford a couple of shaky holes. The fact is Woods' practice round yesterday was business as usual. Reports say he swung the club without discomfort and on the 5th smashed a 353 yard drive - his knee can't be that bad! 5/1 will collapse after he shows his worth in the first round. 3pt Win

Seano's Shouts: Liverpool to draw 0-0 with Real Madrid at 9.2 and Arsenal to draw 0-0 with Fulham 10/1

This week I have tried to go for some big value shouts to try and cash in on some dreary ties. 0-0s are constantly over priced and provide a great lay opportunity in running if no one scores in the first twenty minutes. So my first shout this week is with struggling Liverpool who face a daunting away tie with a rampant Real who have been reinvigorated under Juande Ramos. It seems ridiculous to back 0-0 when Real have scored 17 goals in their last 6 games, beating Betis 6-1 last time out, but the Champions League arena makes this a completely different game. With an unfit Torres and Gerrard Liverpool will play for a 0-0 away from home and Real will really struggle to break them down. 9.2 is a large price for any European game involving the Reds. 1pt Win

Another exciting prospect is the meeting of the 0-0 kings of the premier league. In all competitions the Gunners have amassed 5 goalless draws and Fulham 6, great fun to be a fan at the Emirates this Saturday. As Arsenal's striking woes continue, and Nicklaus Bendtner somehow manages to start every game, 10/1 seems a very large price. 1pt Win

Horse: Air Maze at 2.82 for the 16:00 at Wolverhampton

In a weak field this fillie has a great chance this afternoon to get the week rolling with a win. The daughter of Dansili has to face a trip up in the 16:00 but a second place here last January on debut should make her feel at home. 1pt win

Outsider: South Africa to beat Australia 3-0 at 10/1

Australian cricket is at its lowest point for almost twenty years going into this series with South Africa. Injuries to Lee and Clarke leave a bowling attack worthy of a county championship side rather than a test match against the best side in the world. Of course the greats of Ponting, Clarke and Hussey remain backed up by the able Johnson with the ball but the deep South African batting line up will be eyeing up the Aussies with glee, as they look to replicate their winter exploits on home soil. Of course a draw is a risk to this punt, but if South Africa win the first test, then an easy lay will be on the cards. 1pt win
