- Following its undoubted success on BBC2, hit sitcom Miranda has been moved to BBC1 for its third series. Creator Miranda Hart has revealed that it may not air until 2012, but that a Christmas special this year is a possibility.
- Even though it didn’t have quite the impact the BBC was hoping for, the revived Upstairs Downstairs has been re-commissioned for a series of six episodes, to air in 2012. No confirmed news yet on what cast members are to return.
- On US talkshow Extra, X Factor creator Simon Cowell confirmed that he is still planning to judge both the US and the UK versions this year, although it’s still rumoured that he may not be involved in the auditions stage of the UK show.
- Speaking of X Factor, the prize for the upcoming US version of the show has been announced as a $5 million record deal, which FOX calls the largest guaranteed prize in television history.
- Model Lily Cole, who has previously starred in St Trinian’s and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, is the latest addition to the Doctor Who cast for the next series, probably appearing in the same episode as Hugh Bonneville.
- The USA network has announced the premiere date for the Sam Axe movie, which will be titled Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe. It was shot this winter in Colombia, written by Burn Notice series creator Matt Nix and directed by Jeffery Donovan (who stars as Michael Westen on the show).
- FOX have released some teaser footage for their upcoming sci-fi show Terra Nova, which will premiere in the US as part of the network's 2011–2012 primetime fall television season.
- After four glorious series, Sunday teatime favourite Lark Rise to Candleford comes to an end this week at 8pm on BBC1. It may be twee, but its sunny disposition and simple outlook on life will be sorely missed by many.
- In case you’d missed it, Monday is Valentine’s Day, and there are some interesting programmes on to celebrate. Keith Lemon is guest editing This Morning on Monday (10.30am, ITV1), while Deal or No Deal are extending the celebrations by treating us to Love Week (weekdays, 3.55pm, Channel 4). For those who’d rather not have to associate Noel Edmonds with romance, there’s always Horizon: How to Mend a Broken Heart (9pm, BBC2).
- New sitcom Hot in Cleveland premieres on Tuesday at 8.30pm on Sky Living.
- The current series of Hustle concludes on Friday at 9pm on BBC1, as Albert meets an old flame and the rest of the gang search for diamonds.
- The latest new series on Sky Atlantic is Treme, which tells the story of the rebuilding of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Treme premieres on Friday at 10.15pm on Sky Atlantic.
