- Jennifer Morrison (House, How I Met Your Mother) will play the lead in ABC’s drama pilot Once Upon a Time. The project, which focusses on a town where fairy tales may be real, will be written and produced by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz.
- After his “termination” from sitcom Two and a Half Men, Charlie Sheen has filed a $100 million lawsuit seeking to recoup his salary and wages for the show's crew.
- A plan has been proposed to axe BBC2 daytime content before 7pm and replace it with a live feed from the BBC News Channel. Certain popular programmes such as Eggheads would probably find a new home later in the evening, but others, including Flog It! And Pointless, may well be scrapped.
- Thomas Dekker (Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles) will star in The CW’s pilot, The Secret Circle, which is being produced by Kevin Williamson (The Vampire Diaries). The pilot is based on the books by L. J. Smith and also deals with witches and supernatural things. Dekker will star alongside Life Unexpected’s Britt Robertson.
- Although No Ordinary Family hasn’t officially been canceled, one of its stars, Michael Chiklis has been cast in a comedy pilot for CBS, Vince Uncensored.
- It has been announced that Kris Polaha (Life Unexpected) will star in Ringer, the CBS pilot that, if picked up to series, will see Sarah Michelle Gellar’s (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) return to television.
- Following the news that QI will be returning to its traditional BBC2 10pm slot, Have I Got News For You will be returning to Friday nights, after a general feeling that Thursday just didn’t quite suit it.
- Ex-Lost star Terry O’Quinn has been added to the cast of the Marc Cherry-produced musical pilot Hallelujah for ABC (O’Quinn can sing and play the guitar). Already announced cast members include Jesse L. Martin (Law & Order), Frances O'Conner (Cashmere Mafia) and Arielle Kebbel (The Vampire Diaries).
- While it could be subject to change, Doctor Who Magazine revealed in this month’s edition that the tentative premiere date for the new series of Doctor Who is 23rd April, which gives us as good an excuse as any to show you the amazing series 6 trailer again.
- Let’s Dance for Comic Relief reaches its climax this Saturday at 7.10pm on BBC1, with celebrities such as Katie Price, Noel Fielding and Russell Kane competing to win the title.
- The first season of Chuck is showing from the beginning on 5* (formerly Fiver) starting at 9pm on Saturday evening.
- At 10.30pm on Saturday new US comedy, $#*! My Dad Says (which is based on a Twitter feed), begins on 5*.
- The final series of Waking the Dead begins on Sunday and continues on Monday at 9pm on BBC1. Fans of Tara Fitzgerald’s pathologist Eve Lockhart need not mourn, however, as she will be starring in her very own spin-off, The Body Farm.
- The quiz show with the greatest banter ever, Pointless, returns this Monday at 5pm on BBC2. How many puns around the word “pointless” are there left to make? Many, I suspect.
- The Event returns on Monday (at 10pm on Channel 4). The high-concept drama failed to impress with its first 10 episodes, perhaps it can turn things around when it relaunches.
- Lois’ favourite Hugh Bonneville returns to our screens this Monday at 10pm on BBC4, in mockumentary Twenty Twelve. The comedy series follows the team in charge of the run-up to the Olympics, and co-stars British comedy royalty Jessica Hynes and Green Wing alumni Karl Theobald and Olivia Colman.
- Comic Relief: Do Something Funny for Money airs this Friday from 7pm on BBC1 (switching to BBC2 at 10.30pm during the news). Potential highlights include Miranda Hart starring in Masterchef, James Corden reprising the role of Smithy alongside Paul McCartney, and, of course, the two short Doctor Who mini-scenes.
