Aw, rats. Did you forget to buy the TV pages this week? Never mind, here’s our top five recommendations to make sure you get the most out of that TV license you definitely bought…
1) Orange-jumpsuited, superpowered chavs return with added Dingle in the new series of Misfits on E4. Classy.
2) The Impressions Show with Culshaw and Stephenson – a programme with a longer title, you are not likely to meet.
3) It’s the last in the series of Doc Martin on Monday (sob), and his and Louiserr’s impossibly well behaved baby is kidnapped by the mad pharmacist! You know, looking at it like that, it’s quite appropriate that it’s going out on Halloween; maybe Igor will pop in for a check-up too: “you see Doc, I’ve got this hunch…”
4) Don’t miss the French sketch show WOMEN! airing on BBC2. Because watching ladies getting stuck in polo neck jumpers will always be tres amusant, no matter what language it’s in.
5) And probably packed with enough grit to keep every single British road ice-free this winter, Channel 4’s latest drama about The Yoof, Top Boy, will be airing Monday – Thursday at 10pm.
Check back later in the week for reviews of Misfits, The Slap and Louis Theroux’s latest adventures…
- Charlie Sheen’s new comedy… ahem, Anger Management, is set to air on FX in 2012. We’re sure it’ll be winning us over.
- Primeval’s executive producer, Tim Haines, has confirmed that there is to be a Canadian spin-off of the show, thrillingly titled Primeval: New Order. Of course, we all know how well spin-off shows have worked out in the past (bar a few exceptions, before anyone gets too angry), though it will be interesting to see how this one works out as this is probably the first example where the show it’s spun-off from isn’t actually that popular.
- It seems that the British public’s thirst for a bit of wispy voiced narration of animal violence is stronger than ever, as almost 7 million tuned in to David Attenborough’s latest series, Frozen Planet.
- The Walking Dead has been renewed for a third season, meaning we’ll be seeing more flesh, blood and guts, as well as more of Andrew Lincoln’s lovely blue eyes. Yay!
- The BBC have announced that Wimbledon will remain on the channel until at least 2017. Oh goody, six more years of the Beeb spending a fortune to show us Andy Murray being knocked out in the semi-final and Rafael Nadal scratching his, er, nose.
- And finally, Big Brother is apparently still going on over on Channel 5. Who’d have thought?
