Jasmine Sahu is well suited with this new American drama exclusive to Dave.
Lois Cameron explains why this series is much more than your average cosy period drama.
The last episode of this series sees Sherlock and Moriarty attempt to solve the final problem with devastating consequences.
With major cast changes afoot, Jacob Martin ponders whether Being Human can live up to its own scarily high standard.
So while it was decided that last week, Garrow’s Law just didn’t contain enough hats, Pan Am was soapy enough to give Imperial Leather a run for its money, and Gary’s sense of humour was booted off The X Factor, we have higher hopes for this week. Have a watch of these whilst you begin to knit your Christmas jumpers – we hear Sarah Lund has already finished hers…
1) The Killing II – Saturday. BBC4. 9pm. Just watch it.
2) This is the last time we’ll get a chance to plug WOMEN! as it’s the last in the series this week. So if you want to see how to impersonate a bulb that’s about to blow, and what to do when a taxi charges extra for suitcases, tune in to BBC2 on Thursday at 11.50pm!
3) Mmm, economics – everyone’s favourite topic, right? Allow Ian Hislop to snarkily guide you through the history of banking in When Bankers Were Good on Tuesday (BBC2, 9pm).
4) Him and Her – Nail-bitingly excruciating comedy on BBC3 that shows Gervais and Merchant just how it should be done.
5) Living with the Amish begins on Channel 4 on Thursday, which promises to be an enlightening bit of telly. British teenagers spend time living with the Amish community – a concept that would have made The Inbetweeners Movie a very different film indeed.
Reviews this week will include sitcoms Fresh Meat and The Café, as well as our usual Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor blogs!
- ITV1 confirmed yesterday that they are cancelling The Aaron Show… oh, sorry. Correction: Danny Miller, who plays Aaron on Emmerdale, has announced that he is quitting the soap.
- CBS have announced that Two and a Half Men could last for years. Which is more than can be said for leading man Ashton Kutcher’s marriage to Demi Moore…
- The translators of The Killing have been told to stop translating every expletive as, you know, that word.
- Rumours are flying that HBO and BBC may soon collaborate on an adaptation of Booker Prize-winner Wolf Hall, but could it even be too pretentious for BBC2?
- ITV are set to be rolling in it by the end of the year, with reports suggesting that The X Factor final could earn them £18 million from advertising. Christmas drinks are on them, then.
- The US version of The Jeremy Kyle Show has been renewed for a second season. They can keep him, as far as we’re concerned.
- And finally, behold the trailer for the Doctor Who Christmas Special: The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe. Is it Bill Bailey we can see?
