The majority of the people who make up The Yorker are students from the University of York. The project has brought together a wide variety of people from various degree disciplines and various years.
This section allows you to view the people behind The Yorker, both past and present.
Nick is a third year History student. He joined the team in October 2007 as a writer for Lifestyle but soon became interested in the running of The Yorker as a private company. He was appointed Deputy Operational Director in January 2008 and took over as Operational Director in May 2008. Nick is also a keen bagpiper and armchair sportsman.
Venita is the Yorker’s Company Assistant who assists the Operational Director with the running of the Yorker Limited. The Company Assistant has a good knowledge of how the Yorker is organised and run as well as an understanding of what the Yorker’s various legal, fiscal and administrative commitments are as a limited company.
Anna joined the Yorker in 2008 and after establishing herself as an able news writer, she decided to get involved with advertising and is now overseeing the rolling out of our new advertising structure.
After a surreal encounter with the Yorker in C-ETLE during Roses 2008, Ursula decided to immerse herself in the Yorker and has never looked back. As Finance Officer, Ursuala is responsible for the flow of money within the business.
With her partner in crime Claire Curtis, Kim looks after the publicity of the website and making sure as many people as possible know what the Yorker is and what it's all about.
Claire and Kim are also responsible for publicising all events organised by the Yorker and creating a brand image for 'www.theyorker.co.uk' around campus and beyond.
