The majority of the people who make up The Yorker are students from the University of York. The project has brought together a wide variety of people from various degree disciplines and various years.

Since joining The Yorker, Ruth has been Features Editor and News Editor. She joined the team in February 2007. She became co-Editor in February 2008. She has undertaken work experience with York Press and her local Hospital Radio, and is now set to embark on a postgraduate journalism course in Cardiff in September 2008.
Olly joined the team in 2006 as financial advisor. Soon he moved to team administration, and was largely responsible for setting up The Yorker as a company and drafting The Yorker's constitution. He was Company Secretary and Operational Director until May 2008. Olly is also a keen athlete and rows at competitive level for the University of York.
Following a term as one of the affectionately named 'Deputy Dream Team' Kate was elected as Chief Sub-Editor. In her spare time she is a grammar fiend, and began her Yorker life as Sub Editor, co-compiling the invaluable Style Guide whilst checking for grammatical errors on a daily basis. Kate hopes to pursue a career in the publishing industry.
Rosie became Sub Editor in October 2007 and worked tirelessly co-compiling the invaluable Style Guide for the site as well as checking for errors on a daily basis!
John was The Yorker's Picture Editor and loves nothing more than using his camera at a variety of events. He is a keen American Football fan, and player. He also makes a mean Mojito.
Kirsty joined the team in 2008 within the Arts section before being elected Culture Editor. She became Arts Editor in May 2008. She is involved in many other arts-based projects on campus, including Art displays and media.
Greg joined the team in February 2008. In October 2008 He was re-elected joint Sports Editor. He is a keen footballer, playing for the university football team, and is a general sports guru.
Adam is a previous Editor of York Vision, and made a final transition to The Yorker in March 2008. His unimitable style and controversy can mainly be viewed in the Blogs section.
David joined The Yorker in November 2007 as a Lifestyle and Features writer. While he was still involved in these sections, he was also elected Sub Editor in May 2008. In October 2008 he was elected Podcast Editor.
Kimberley joined the team in January 2008, originally as part of Features. Since then, she made the move over to Lifestyle, eventually becoming Lifestyle Editor in May 2008.
Hannah joined The Yorker in 2008 so that she could write about films. Handily she then became Film and TV Editor, then took up her current position as Deputy Arts Editor.
George was Sports Editor from February 2007 to February 2008, when he and his fellow Editor, Chris Collinson, stood down to Deputy level to concentrate on other projects.
Ben joined The Yorker as Arts Editor after working as Deputy Music Editor for Nouse. He was one of the founders of the first newspaper podcast in York. He has seen over one hundred bands.
Vicky joined the team in 2007 and promptly became Deputy Features Editor before taking over as Features Editor in February. In October 2008 she was re-elected joint Features Editor. Vicky's other interests include volunteering with charitable ventures and travel.
Chris was Sports Editor from February 2007 to February 2008, when he and his fellow Editor, George Taylor, stood down to Deputy level to concentrate on other projects.
Jonathan was elected Deputy Arts Editor in October 2008. He joined The Yorker as a writer for Arts in February 2008, and was elected as TV, Film and Performing Arts Editor in May 2008.
Jo has been nominated for Best Student Diversity writer by The Guardian. Throughout 2006/7 she was the Features Editor for 'Muse', Nouse's acclaimed pull-out. Jo was part of the team which put together the first specification for The Yorker. She made the move from Nouse in October 2007 to become Deputy Editor, standing down in February 2008 to become Videocast Editor.
Lucy was news editor and then editor for York Vision in 2007, the year it won Newspaper of the Year at the Guardian Student Media Awards. She has had internships with the BBC and ITV and was named Best Student Reporter by the Guardian. In October 2007 she made the move to join The Yorker, to launch videocasting on the site.
Tom made the move into arts journalism after two years of lead roles in Fame and West Side Story. He launched 'Artscast', The Yorker's acclaimed weekly podcast.
Dan worked for the Cape Argus in his gap year, covering shark attacks and murders. He joined York Vision at university and was news editor during the year it won NUS Small Budget Publication of the Year. He was editor of Vision for two issues during the year it won Guardian Newspaper of the Year. He then quit the newspaper to co-found The Yorker and became its first Editor. He has also worked for the Cheddar Valley Gazette and Sky News.
Sam was one of Nouse's most radical food reviewers, slamming vegetarianism in his popular, light-hearted and machismo food column. He was Chief Food Reviewer for The Yorker, and put together the first customisable database of restaurants for students.
Anna became a reviewer for the Arts Section in November 2007. She was elected Culture and Deputy Arts Editor in May 2008, and later Arts Editor in October 2008. She is a second year music undergraduate and when she's not writing or editing, loves to sing!

A keen Yorkerite from the very beginning, Mitch joined the journalism team in March 2008 with an in-depth exposure of security problems in the e:Vision system. In November 2008, he became blogs section editor.
Rod joined the team in June 2007 and has reviewed bands such as Ash and the University Battle of the Bands competition. He has also turned his hand to blogging.
