James Arden checks out the garage rockers latest album.
The Christian rock band from Brighton bring religion to the masses.
Recipe for modern R'n'B album: liberal helpings of guest rappers and an overdose of sexual euphemisms.
Pandering to the fear of "the death of the music industry as we know it" and the baying of the online "music for the people" mob Coldplay gave this track away for free last week, as if they exist an a parallel world where it won't be available online for free anyway. Still, it's nice of them, and the single is a step on from the turgidity of X&Y, with a crunching guitar cutting through the usual piano melodicity like a bolt of lightning, giving it an actual value of a bit more than zero pence.

With a beautiful voice that sounds like an gentle breeze, Goldfrapp brings us their latest single, "Happiness." The song is very simple and sounds as soothing as a summer day. With warm keyboard chords and Alinson Goldfrapp's soft voice play, one would find it very hard not to smile to this song.
Brit-pop survivors Supergrass return with a single that, with its distorted guitar and growling vocals in the verses, is heavily indebted to the glam rock sound of T-Rex . Bad Blood's simple guitar riff and rousing vocals are undeniably catchy, but it is too derivative to make any lasting impression. “Bad Blood” aims to be a thunderous rock record but in reality, it proves too dull to create a storm.

From the lady that brought you Moloko, Roisin Murphy brings a little more sunshine to the burgeoning summer days with her new single You Know Me Better. Shining a much-needed ray of light on the music scene with her electro-disco beats and sexy synthesised voice, Murphy provides us with a heavily polished number reminiscent of an early-days Madonna (but better). With Groove Armada’s Andy Cato on board for a sexy collaboration, Murphy whips up an anti-indie storm to clear the air and make way for electro-sunny times.
