The Yorker's sports team says what they would like for Christmas this year

This week has been hard for the York Centurions, losing a match on Wednesday against the Manchester Tyrants 12 – 8 and then losing this Sunday to the Sheffield Sabres 26 - 0. They were relying on these two wins to get a chance to play post-season football. But both devastating blows rocked the Centurions to their core. After such a promising start, the Centurions thought that their season was over.
But tonight Popps, the general manager, broke the news that they had made it through to the playoffs, which means that they will be battling Hull Sharks on Sunday at Hull’s ground. The Centurions finally have the chance to prove to people that they are not a team to be messed with and that all their hard work hasn’t been for nothing. Although they have already defeated Hull Sharks this season, that doesn’t mean they can take this game lightly and they will be training extra hard this week to make sure they secure the win.
This news has been met with great delight by players and coaches alike. Now is a time for the team to really come together as they can’t afford to lose another game and it would be great for the seniors to leave with their heads held high.
Fingers crossed for the game on Sunday.
A special mention must go to Sam Asfahani, York Sport president and founder of the York Centurions, his team has managed to come so far after only two years of competing.
Also, a special mention to Popps, general manager, for organising the guys and making sure everyone was always ready to play.
And finally, a get well soon to Harris, he always gives 100% and sadly this week that led to him breaking his ankle, hopefully he will have a speedy recovery.
