The Yorker's sports team says what they would like for Christmas this year

Regional competitions have produced good results for the 1st ski team, coming in 8th position in the Kings Northern League dry slope competition. The Ladies team has also made their mark in the league ranking 8th in this section. Additionally, the 2nd team have made the top 15, a good result considering the majority of the team have never raced before.
The team have also produced good results in the national dry slope competition, named BUDS, held in Edinburgh. Every university in Britain and some Irish universities attend BUDS, with over 2000 students competing in the event. Dave Tee placed 11th in the Mens GS and Stephanie Campbell Woodward made the top 25 in the Ladies Slalom. Despite strong starts from Olivia French and Ieva Drulyte in the first run of the slalom, they did not qualify to the finals due to the strong competition in this category.
YUsnow were not given an easy start in the ski team slalom duals, facing a very strong team from Cardiff. York was knocked out of the competition by the Cardiff team that ended up placing 2nd in the entire competition.
Rhys Oakley was the only representative for the snowboard events and placed in the top 30 in his heat in the slopestyle competition.
With the majority of the snowboard team from last year having graduated, the snowboard team is low on members, and YUsnow encourages any snowboarders to try some racing even if they have no experience. Two members of the team last year only started racing at university and are now on Team GB for snowboard cross.
YUsnow are looking forward to the last round of the Northern Kings League in December and for the indoor competitions next term. They will also start selling tickets to the popular charity Christmas party soon that includes a raffle with prizes such as a snowboard, among other goodies.
Another big event in the YUsnow calendar is the very popular annual Easter trip. This year the club is travelling to Tignes with over 250 students and would encourage those not wanting to miss out to book now at the YUsnow website www.yusnow.co.uk.
