Toffs too posh for Thursdays

Toffs Dancefloor

Toffs will no longer open on Thursday's due to low numbers of clubbers.

This article was written by Ben Duncan

Gallery holds its 'Pukka' University student night on Thursday, and as the clubs are owned by the same company, Luminar, the decision has been made to close Toffs.

Quote Toffs will definitely be as lively as ever and this year will be the best yet for students at Toffs! Quote
Dan Portus

Dan Portus, manager of Toffs Nightclub, said it was not a difficult decision to make. Attendance on Thursdays, the night Gallery attracts most students, has always been low.

Whilst it should be noted that each club has its own student night, Portus has taken the step to close shop when few were using it.

“Toffs will definitely be as lively as ever and this year will be the best yet for students at Toffs!”

Perhaps it will rest the hearts of those who are concerned to know that, while Toffs’ opening hours may be contracting, new events are being introduced to try and expand Toffs’ appeal.

Friday Week 10 will see them hold their second Facebook party, where all who accept 'Attending' to the invite will get free entry for themselves and a guest, with an 1980's theme, Toffs seem to be widening their appeal for students to visit the club over the weekend.

Yeah, so get rid of pretty much the only alternative to Gallery on a week night, and try and pull people in on the weekend instead when it's more expensive. Sound economic sense... :/
