A flood caused by a heating system “failure” forced the university IT services to shut down many essential systems on Sunday night, causing problems for many students on the eve of their exams and assignment due-dates.

We're conquering Lancaster before we go and win Roses in May!
The group, which include SU Officers and students (including a few The Yorker Editors), are aiming to raise £2,000 for the charity.
Amy Benziane, one of the group and The Yorker's News Editor said: "I'm sure it'll be difficult but it's for a good cause."
She added that training wasn't very high on her list of priorities: "I cycle to and from campus every day and I've been out on one long ride", whilst AU President Jo Carter said that the team are training "separately."
Carter gives an interesting explanation for the challenge. She said: "We're mad! It's an adventure to raise money for charity and also to raise awareness for Roses - we're conquering Lancaster before we go and win Roses in May!"
Benziane said that reality hasn't quite kicked in yet: "I've managed to somehow convince myself 100 miles is do-able and not that far while also thinking oh god it's to and from town about twenty times... maybe even more!"
So will they be donning lycra? "Yep! Hugh and I plan to get ourselves some very stylish padded shorts... very sexy indeed."
They will cycle from York to Lancaster, taking in 72 miles on the first, and 48 on the second, taking in climbs of up to 4768 feet on the first day alone.
The Air Ambulance needs over £6,500 a day to operate.
