A group of York students has won the opportunity to have their very own I-phone application developed after winning The App Challenge final, held at the Ron Cooke Hub on Wednesday, January 18.

As reported by the BBC, obligatory fingerprinting is now one of several immigration measures that have been introduced by the government, and will be effective as of the 25th of November this year.
From March, universities will also be required to monitor the attendance of overseas students to ensure they are attending their college or university classes.
The tougher immigration controls are partly in response to reports of fake colleges being used as a means of gaining a student visa. According to the BBC, nearly 300 of these false institutions were discovered last year.
Whilst these new regulations will only affect those who are from outside the European Union, it is a controversial measure to introduce such close surveillance.
It is estimated that international students contribute £2.5bn a year through tuition fees and the introduction of fingerprinting may deter potential students from applying to study in the United Kingdom.
This would have serious financial repercussions for British universities as some, according to higher education watchdog Quality Assurance Agency, are already financially dependent on income derived from international students.
Overseas students currently studying in the United Kingdom would not be affected unless they require an extension on their student visa from November onwards.
