A group of York students has won the opportunity to have their very own I-phone application developed after winning The App Challenge final, held at the Ron Cooke Hub on Wednesday, January 18.

A flood caused by a heating system “failure” forced the university IT services to shut down many essential systems on Sunday night, causing problems for many students on the eve of their exams and assignment due-dates.
The police said that it would not be safe for them to search the river at this moment in time as the water levels are too high.
Le Moignan was last seen at his home address on Seventh Avenue 12 days ago. The following morning, a number of items of clothing believed to belong to him, including a hat, scarf and gloves, were found by the river at the Millennium Bridge. The man who found the items noted that "there was something about the way the items were so neatly packed that was unusual". There was a piece of paper on top of the items with a date and time written on it, prompting the man to call the police immediately.
Paul Watton, York's Head of the Department of Chemistry, sent an email to all Chemistry students on Tuesday 24th November asking students to let him or their supervisor know when they last had contact with Le Moignan.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police has said that Le Moignan’s mother and sister, who live in Lampeter, Wales, are being kept updated about the search.
