Wentworth E block has been given to Vanbrugh for 2011/12 and it will form part of Eric Milner White Court with Blocks A and B.
The new accommodation, which will be ready for move-in weekend at the start of the October 2011 term, will house approximately 95 students.
This additional accommodation block means Vanbrugh welcomes over 700 Freshers this year, giving the college its largest ever intake and one of the largest intakes of Freshers out of the university’s eight colleges.
David Efird, Provost of Vanbrugh College, said: “We are very excited to welcome the students for Wentworth E and we are very pleased they will be a part of Vanbrugh.
“It is a tremendous opportunity for the college to share the Vanbrugh spirit with our biggest intake of Freshers ever.
“Georgina Heath, College Administrator, and the JCRC, led by Kallum Taylor, have done a tremendous job in preparing for these additional students. We have appointed a College Tutor for the block to help ensure that the block is a great success,” Efird added.
Wentworth E offers standard non-ensuite rooms with two self-catering kitchens shared by 16-18 people on each floor, while bathrooms are shared by 6-8 students.
Bedrooms are single or twin rooms and provide occupants with a bed, desk, wardrobe, bookshelves and wash basin, setting back students £68.95 a week for a twin room or £85.82 a week for a single throughout a 39 week let.
