Todd, something of a legend amongst James College students has been Provost since the college was founded and has been seen to share a pint with many of his students in his local pubs, The Charles or The Derrimore.
Alex Clarke, James JCRC Chair said that, ‘With his droll humour and passion for a bevy or two, Ken's certainly set a precedence to follow! In terms of contribution to the college, Ken is definitely not out of touch with the wants of students-seeing that the JCRC and quad dash is adequatley stocked with liquor!
I'm sure his legend status will be the subject of conversation long after his departure!
'His leaving will be a saddening blow to the college, but i'm assured a new provost will assume the post with the same passion as Ken-his devotion has been untold and i'm sure his legend status will be the subject of conversation long after his departure!’

Clarke added that ‘Ken Todd has served as the backbone for James, being appointed the provost from the very begining, when Berrick Saul saw the necessity to introduce a new college, Todd, a former student union president himself, became the figurehead of the upcoming college. Much needed expansions later and over a decade of students, Todd is still going strong.’
As for the future, Clarke said that although the College will miss Todd's presence, she is looking forward to a new Provost, ’He has been a great asset, and I will be saddened to loose such a prominent figure for James; but I'm not averse to change, and think that we can look to new things with a new provost-with new people come new ideas. I'm not saying out with the old-it will be a loss, but with replacement, new things will generate.’
