CCTV footage shows him outside Ziggy’s nightclub in York at 12.38am on Sunday morning but he has not been seen since. Police and his family are “extremely concerned” for his safety. His mother Kim Davies broke down with emotion as she explained that he would be 21 on November 20th.
She said: “We’d just bought him his twenty-first birthday present, a piano. He’s a very sociable boy, we’ve got hundreds of photos of him at home with his mates and he’s just having a good time. He was on top of the world."
“I want to appeal to anyone who thinks they might have seen him to please contact us. I want to hold my son again, I want him back.”
Robert, a chemistry student, is described as 20, 6’2” tall and of slim build. He has short, dark, brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black long sleeved shirt, blue jeans and brown slip-on shoes.
Robert’s father Tony Davies said: “Rob is the kind of lad that anyone would be proud to have as a son. He was so happy to be coming back to York for his third year of university, he loved the place.
“If you talked to him it might well have been about football, he was a big Man City fan, his music, or his recent trip to Thailand with his mates.”
“The police have done a superb job so far we’re so grateful to them but we need your help now. If you remember seeing or talking to Rob last weekend, or have any information that may help the police I would implore you to contact them. We all miss you so much Rob and we pray that you’re safe.”

Chief Inspector Dave Hall, who is leading the search, added: “We are extremely positive about the investigation and are looking at every possible reason for why Rob may have gone missing.”
“We’re asking anyone who has any information about his whereabouts or believes they saw him on Saturday night or Sunday morning to contact their local police station.”
“If Robert himself sees this appeal we ask him to contact us in order to let his family know that he is safe and well.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 0845 6060247.
