Body found in Ouse believed to that of Rob

Robert Davies
Rest in peace Rob
Monday, 1st October 2007
The search for Rob has reached the end that everyone was hoping it never would. Today a body believed to be his was recovered from the river Ouse by police.

Family and friends now believe that the body recovered from the Ouse was that of Rob Davies. The body was spotted at 10:00am by a member of the public on the banks near the A64 road bridge. Rob, 20, was going into his 3rd year of Chemistry.

Today, messages of condolence have flooded in to the Facebook group set-up to help find him, which had grown to over 2200 members. Both founders, family and friends thanked everyone for their overwhelming support.

As friends struggled to come to grips with the reality, one message became clear: friends will remember him for the good times they had. One friend reported sitting around microwaving lightbulbs with Rob during term time. Other anecdotes, all revealing a caring and fun man, are slowly and sadly coming in.

Please continue to contact North Yorkshire Police if you have any information regarding the circumstances of Rob's death.
