A group of York students has won the opportunity to have their very own I-phone application developed after winning The App Challenge final, held at the Ron Cooke Hub on Wednesday, January 18.

Also nominated was York Vision for "Best Newspaper". Editors Adam Thorn and Lucy Taylor, who were both individually nominated for "Best Reporter" will leave Vision on a high to join the Yorker next week. Another individual nomination was Joanna Shelley of Nouse for "Best Diversity Writer" who will also be joining our team.
Other nominations included "Best Diversity Writer" and "Best Feature Writer" for the editor of Nouse, Heidi Blake. Adam Sloan, a photographer and writer from Nouse, got nominated for "Travel Writer of the Year". In the Vision camp, Darius Austin secured a nomination for "Best Sports Writer" and Richard Webb for "Critic of the Year".
The award ceremony will be held in London in November.
Great news, shame about Nouse but the yorker deserves it.
