The directors of the Yorker decided to donate the money to the West Yorkshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre in Leeds, which is one of busiest centres in the whole of the British Isles. The charity is keen to get more students involved in fundraising for them, and offer any support or ideas they might require.
Their own fundraising activities include the MS challenge where a team of 10-12 people carry an MS patient in a wheelchair around a 10 mile long RAF training course in Wales.
The Therapy Centre will use the Yorker’s donation to replace a perished piece of equipment in one of their patient’s rooms. They are extremely grateful for our donation, and would urge anyone interested in fundraising for them to get in contact.
The Yorker hopes to be able to continue its support to local charities in the future.
