A group of York students has won the opportunity to have their very own I-phone application developed after winning The App Challenge final, held at the Ron Cooke Hub on Wednesday, January 18.

The University and College Union are the principal supporters of the measure, but they have alienated other unions who represent manual workers.
Vice-chancellors and employers last week made moves to try and prevent lecturers from being able to go on strike during exams as happened last year.
UCU will be holding a special conference in the coming days to deal with what it sees as an active threat from employers.
