Double Take - Chinese ban Google's barrel roll

Google
G...oog...le
Friday, 4th November 2011
Unless, like me, you are one of the few loyally trooping along with Internet Explorer, typing 'do a barrel roll' into Google will get you a surprising result. Unless, that is, you're in China.

Google has often been the controversial subject of censorship in the People's Republic, and their recent 'barrel roll' feature, in homage to the Nintendo 64 game, Star Fox, has been banned amongst fears it may be 'too subversive.'

A spokesperson for Google was blunt: "This clearly violates the founding principle upon which Google is based, and which is now our slogan: don't be evil."

Reports of Chinese citizens bravely barrel rolling through the streets in defiance of the ban have yet to be substantiated.
