People and organisations using The Yorker to post events should be aware that members of the general public may be able to view those events. However The Yorker has taken direct steps to minimise this, by prompting users to register with the site. Only York students can register with The Yorker.

What Information do we collect?

When registering with The Yorker we will ask you for your:

  • Event Preferences

We may time to time ask you for more information, for example if we run a competition which you participate in.

How do we use your information?

The events preferences information you give us allows you to customise your own events calendar. Your name and email may be used to contact you with regards to games, competitions and involvement in The Yorker.

Other Websites

Our website is hosted by a third party but we agree with the third party that they will keep your information secure and not use it for other purposes. It is possible for you to add your own links to our site. If you link to others' sites, they may collect information. Such sites are not within our control and we are not covered by their privacy policy.
