Preview: Langwith Arts - Light

Langwith Arts
Sunday, 16th May 2010
Written by Martin Ferry

Calling all creative and artistic minded people! Want your chance to support the University of York's aspiring artists? This Monday sees the launch of Light, a new exhibition of student art including photography, installation art and paintings. The exhibition is based at the Norman Rea Gallery, which is situated in the Langwith Upper JCR, up the stairs opposite the Courtyard. Bring your critical artistic mind and sip a glass of wine as you see some provoking artwork, you might even get inspired yourself.

This new exhibition is centred upon "Light" and the artwork we have received already is diverse and creative. This will be an opportunity to see some brilliant artwork from your fellow students and members of the public! If that isn't reason enough did I mention there will be wine provided, and what student can miss out on that?! Laura Howarth, a committee member of the Norman Rea Gallery, commented "this is the first exhibition that I've participated in and I am really looking forward to seeing to the final result. Many students have taken the opportunity of exhibiting their work alongside local artists, demonstrating the thriving arts community here at York".

The grand opening is tomorrow, Monday 17th May, at 7pm. Don't miss out!
