Photo Soc is now running fortnightly photography competitions, with members taking a theme as inspiration for their pictures. As this week marks the first time that the winning entry will be displayed on The Yorker, "beginnings" seemed like a suitable first theme.

This week's winner is Ragini Nag Rao.

About the photo: "I came to York to begin a new life. This is the first photo I took here. The road stretches out in front of me. All I have to do is walk it."
