After the long Easter break, to many students YUSU elections at the end of term probably seem like a lifetime ago.

12 pm Friday afternoon marked the closing of this year’s YUSU nominations, and so the elections begin. Some – candidates, campaigners and friends - would say these are exciting times, but for the rest of us – Freshers - Friday passed without a blip like any other, bringing with it only the promise of a lie-in the next day.
Two major international events are set to take place on Saturday, February 27- York CSSA’s Chinese New Year Gala and International Week’s Fiesta. The Yorker spoke to both these societies to find out how they think this clash will affect their respective events.
