Pimp your snack - Ultimate Toblerone

Giant toblerone
In all its glory
Sunday, 16th January 2011
With Christmas comes chocolate. Lots of chocolate. Weirdly, I get sick of chocolate quite easily. On a restless afternoon in the holidays I found myself collecting all my leftover choccies from around the house, feeling an irresistible urge to CREATE SOMETHING MAGNIFICENT. And here it is. Ladies and gentlemen, I present THE ULTIMATE TOBLERONE!

Ingredients:

  • 1 giant Toblerone
  • Almonds
  • Nougat
  • Maltesers

Method:

1) Snap the Toblerone into pieces and melt in the microwave for about two minutes, stirring halfway through. You want it to be just melted.

2) Roughly chop a few handfuls of almonds and the nougat into the size you prefer.

3) Bash up the Maltesers.

4) Stir the almond and nougat pieces in with the melted Toblerone. Then push the mix onto a baking tray you’ve lined with cling film. Try and remember to do this or else you’ll never get it back out of the tin!

5) Onto the melted mush sprinkle the Maltesers, pressing them in slightly.

6) Refrigerate, then smash up and eat. Not all at once though, you’ll get diabetes.

In the future I intend on adding sultanas, rice crispies, broken up Crunchie bars, chopping in a Chomp, flaking over a Flake... the possibilities are endless. Diets are for wimps.
