Roses fashion
Tuesday, 17th May 2011
This week for My Student Wardrobe, Rachel Heys and Hanah Mamoojee have sought out a stylish couple who attended the Roses. Find out where they got their clothes, what their style inspirations are and what they thought of this year's Roses.

His name: Rhys Brown

College: Halifax

Studying: 1st year Physics

Jeans: Topman

Shoes: Lacoste

Belt: York leather shop

Leather jacket: Pierre Cardin (London)

Style inspirations: “I follow my own style, but I am a fan of Ted Baker”

Roses special questions:

What are your views on the t-shirts? “They’re cool. Wouldn’t have chosen red, black and white, personally, think we should’ve stuck to our own Roses colour but I’m fine with it.”

What are you most looking forward to during the Roses? “Rowing! My mate’s in the team, so I’m going down to support him! Oh and I’m looking forward to the rugby 1st’s match, mainly for the cheerleaders.”

Do you do any sport yourself? “No, though I go to the gym, I’m hoping to get more involved next year!”

Her name: Ceri Lumley

College: Halifax

Studying: 1st year History

Boots: River Island

Shorts: Topshop

Style inspirations: “Anything from Vivienne Westwood to Alexander McQueen, they’re amazing.”

Roses special questions:

What are your views on the t-shirts? “Not the most flattering! But they’re OK for how much we paid.”

What are you most looking forward to during the Roses? “The rugby 1st’s match is going to be great! Anything that concerns rugby and I’m there.”

Do you do any sport yourself? “Yoga?”

Because, to paraphrase a famous saying, fashion is not a matter of life and death. It is much more serious than that.

When you look at the people picked every week, especially recently, one can detect a distinct lack of knowledge and awareness of fashion in general ... so why expect correct spelling of fashion's big players' names!?
