The house party to end all house parties?

An estimated 150 students from York, Leeds and Manchester, as well as other parts of the student population united together at the weekend for the ultimate student house party.

13 top quality York/York St. John University bands and seven DJs played in the 12+ hour event held in a student house in Badger Hill.

Battle of the Bands winners Magic P and the Innuendos topped the bill.

Max Leonard, the chief organiser of the event, said: "Thanks everybody for making it perfect, I don't think it could have gone any better than it did."

A variety of musical genres were on offer in the 'Manor's' garage, including rock 'n’ roll from Murderface Williams, funky motown from Half A Dog and even a final show from last year’s hugely popular psychedelic world drum and bass group Vudu Guru.

The early part of the day showcased great perfomances from Huddersfield-based two-piece Chrik and York's The!Spoon?(and the), who offered the kind of alternative and high quality performance you rarely get to see in York.

Low Flying Flag, who usually live up to their description of 'tighter than a bank manager, no nonsense guitar drums bass', could have done with a little less alcohol flowing through their system but somehow managed to provide a decent enough show, possibly showing their natural talent.

Further to bands and DJs were a BBQ, djembe and conga jams and a Hookah Lounge for those on their way up to cloud nine.

One of the high points of the party was the atmosphere, which was the sort you’d experience at Reading, Leeds or Glastonbury. You could sit, chill and dance with anyone and everyone with an overhead tarpaulin and rubbish comparable to a festival campsite.

Manorpalooza best summed up those really awesome house parties that you see on TV, that you wish you could have been a part of. If you were there I wouldn’t be surprised if you agreed with me. If you weren't, sorry to make you green-eyed, maybe one day you’ll have your chance!

Genius, thanks for the review guys... You know you've made an impact when you've made it on here. Thanks to all the bands DJs and people who made this a truely special event. mx
