Students' research made easy by new iPhone App

ArticleSearch app
Thursday, 3rd February 2011
London-based ForeMinds, have developed a new, free app named ArticleSearch which allows higher education students to do consecutive searches of information across numerous sources.

ArticleSearch includes scientific papers, journals, articles, magazines and other academic publications.

According to ForeMinds the app will allow students to ‘avoid having to repeat their searches when using different computer systems. It will also mean they can carry out instantaneous searches of several libraries and sources from virtually any location while on the move.’

ArticleSearch gathers its results in visual ‘test tubes’ on screen to show how much information there is from each source. It addition to this students can send their results to any colleague by SMS or email without the need for the person receiving it to have the app themselves.

Managing Director of ForeMinds, Haroldo Bottosso, told the yorker “We designed the app by putting ourselves in the mindset of the student, and by discussing how their lives could be made easier and more time efficient when completing academic work.”

The app is also available for download from the iTunes App Store for the iPod-touch and iPad.
