A flood caused by a heating system “failure” forced the university IT services to shut down many essential systems on Sunday night, causing problems for many students on the eve of their exams and assignment due-dates.

Oliver Lester triumphs as new Derwent College chair

Oliver Lester has become the new chair of Derwent College in this year’s JCRC elections, beating fellow contestant Alexios Mantzarlis by 204 votes to 125.

The results were announced at 9.00pm last night in the Derwent bar, and the new Derwent JCRC for 2007/2008 are:
