A flood caused by a heating system “failure” forced the university IT services to shut down many essential systems on Sunday night, causing problems for many students on the eve of their exams and assignment due-dates.

Week in Pictures: Varsity and Battle of the Bands

This week saw the University of York be victorious against our local rivals in Varsity, and Magic P and the Innuendos at Battle of the Bands, we bring you, the Week in Pictures.

Varsity saw comfortable victories across the board:

Varsity Hockey
Sticks at the ready: Varsity Hockey was hard-fought

Varsity Volleyball
Victory was York University's in the Sports Centre for Volleyball

Varsity Tennis
There was no fault to be had by the Tennis team

Varsity Netball
Victory was taken by the Netball team, 35-30

Varsity Badminton
After a delayed start, a close match saw Badminton being won by York St. John, 5-4

The University of York were victorious by 55-16. An impressive display all round, and Well Done from all at The Yorker.

Week 6 also saw the Semi's and Final of Battle of the Band. Whilst Magic P and the Innuendos were victorious, there were impressive performances from all bands.
