YSTV raise money for Children in Need

YSTV Logo
Thursday, 13th November 2008
Starting today, YSTV are running a special two-day event to raise funds for Children in Need.

The main event consists of a three hour pirate-themed live show at 8pm on Friday. YUSU President Tom 'Mad Cap'n Tom Scott is expected to appear and give a pirate workshop. There will also be appearances from Doug Soc and the York Operatics Society.

YSTV will be present today on Vanbrugh paradise from 1pm until 3pm and claim the presence of "a giant wooden television". They will be playing a number of games to grab people's attention with the hope of raising funds for Children in Need in the process.

YSTV are hoping to raise even more money with the help of one student who is to get his head shaved on camera.

YSTV Commercial Director Katie Anderson said: "Basically we're trying to make lots of money for [Children in Need] as well as having a lot of fun."

Last year's broadcast for the same charity won the award for best live show at the National Student Television Awards.

Everyone is welcome to join the live broadcast in the YSTV studio. It will be available online on YSTV's website.
